Vibration vs percussion: what actually changes?
Both are handheld recovery-tool categories, but they move differently. Frequency and stroke length shape how each device feels.
| Mechanic | High-frequency vibration | Typical percussion |
|---|---|---|
| Movement | Rapid, short travel | More pronounced back-and-forth stroke |
| Feel | Buzzing / vibrating | Tapping / pounding |
| Buying focus | Frequency, amplitude, handling | Amplitude, stall force, speed, attachments |
Where Rapid Release fits
Rapid Release lists a 1/16-inch amplitude for the Pro3+ and speeds up to about 10,000 VPM. Its consumer models use selectable high-frequency settings. Conventional percussion products vary widely, so compare actual specifications rather than assuming every massage gun is identical.
